Effect of vibration on Bearing

When any particle moves between small displacement with back and forth motion rapidly, it causes Vibration. Indeed, this type of motion is not good for any kind of bearing. Moreover, excessive vibration can reduce bearing life easily. The total number of cyclic movements per second is called vibrational frequency. Most of the bearing may damage due to vibration, corrosion, overload, unbalanced mass etc. The effect of vibration on bearing may create a worse situation. Various components of good industrial bearing can destroy easily during the operation period. Vibration can simply measure by some devices such as frequency analyzers, shock pulse meters, oscilloscopes, seismographs, etc. Generally, Vibration is proportional to RPM as well as noise. If any machine runs for long years, After a certain period balls or rollers become corrosion due to friction. In this case, Major vibration generates due to sufficient clearance between the outer race and the inner race. The performance of multifarious machines goes down because of unnecessary resonance. Misalignment of the bearing is also another one of the reason for making vibration. If vibration generates due to misalignment, unbalance mass then it affects on bearing life cycle. On the other hand, If vibration generates because of corrosion on the ball or roller then it affects the machine’s life cycle. While lubricants are used on bearing then it reduces frictional effects between metal components as well as prevents to form oxidation. Effect of vibration on bearing also can be quite reduced by using lubrication system. But when metal particles break out from the raceway or ball because of not using lubrication is called wash boarding.

Vibration can illuminate by applying various techniques. A rubber base should install between the machine and the floor. Rubber can simply absorb a small amount of vibration without making any hamper. Machine all parts must be aligned based on their center. Nut-bolt needs to tighten with the proper torque measurement. Proper lubrication should utilize on moving parts inside the machine. The damaged parts must replace with a new ones every certain period.
